let’s get cookin’!

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.

  2. Wash your sweet potatoes! Under warm water, wash your sweet potatoes to remove any visible dirt and scrub gently with your hands for about a minute. No need to peel them; the skin contains lots of fiber and nutrients!

  3. Chop! First, cut off each end of the sweet potatoes. Then, you can lay the sweet potato on it’s side and slice every 1/4 to create thin slabs. Once you have these pieces, you will cut them into fly-shaped pieces and place them in a large bowl. Repeat with each potato.

  4. Add cornstarch, oil, and salt. First, add cornstarch to the bowl and mix to make sure each fry is lightly coated with cornstarch. Then, add oil and salt and mix again until fully coated.

  5. Place on a baking pan. Place the sweet potato fries on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Make sure that the fries are not touching and the pan is not too crowded (this will hinder the baking process). Plan to use one pan per sweet potato used.

  6. Bake! Bake for about 40 minutes or until fries are soft on the inside and just starting to become crunchy on the outside.

  7. Enjoy! Serve as is or add more seasonings as desired! Also feel free to use any dipping sauces you would use for regular fries. Dig in!
