Shrimp Tacos

One of my favorite proteins to cook with is shrimp, mostly because it is SUPER easy to cook and there is never any chopping required! Shrimp cooks very quickly and can take on many strong flavors, such as taco seasoning… and they taste amazing!

Let’s get cookin’!

  1. Dry off shrimp. If your shrimp need defrosting, the best way to so so quickly and safely is by adding them to a bowl and running cold water over them continuously. Either way, whether defrosting or not, make sure your shrimp are dry by putting light pressure on them with a paper towel.

  2. Start cookin’! In a pan, add abouy 1/2 tbsp of oil or butter and let it heat up. Once hot, add the shrimp to the pan. After about 3-4 minutes on one side, flip over and cook on the other side until golden brown (while they are cooking, move onto the next steps)! Once they are starting to brown, add the taco seasoning, salt, and pepper and mix for about 1 minutes until fully covered.

  3. Get choppin’! While the shrimp are cooking, start to prepare your chosen toppings. For items like tomatoes, onions, lettuce, avocado, or anything else that needs to be cut up, now is the best time to do so. You can also prepare any other toppings like cheese and sauces to add.

  4. Warm tortillas. In a warm oven or in the microwave, warm up your tortillas so that they are slightly warm; you don’t want them to become crispy or they will be hard to fold to eat. In a 350°F oven, warm the tortillas for about 2 minutes. In a microwave, warm for only about 15-20 seconds.

  5. Enjoy! Add your shrimp and any toppings your heart desires to your tacos and enjoy! Add as much or as little as you’d like :)
